Mirthwick stakes pair a teak decorative top and glass detail with a metal stem. Simple placement and regular checks help a set look its best in the garden.

What each set includes

Every listing is for four matching stakes in the motif shown, each approximately 4 feet (122 cm) tall. The wood outline, glass colours and motif differ by design, so check the individual product page for the set you are buying. Natural teak grain and hand-finished details vary.

Before installation

Unpack all four pieces and check the glass, wood and stems. Keep the protective packaging until you are satisfied with the set. If a piece is cracked, missing or damaged, photograph it and the packaging and contact us within 7 days; do not install a damaged stake.

Placement

Choose firm soil where the decorative tops remain visible above surrounding plants. Support the metal stem and push it into the soil steadily. Do not press on the glass or use the wooden top as a handle or lever. Keep the decorative top above the soil line, and avoid busy paths or places where people may trip over a pointed stem.

Outdoor conditions

After heavy rain or wind, check that each stake is stable. Move a piece if soil has softened or shifted. Wood changes tone as it weathers, and glass looks different in sun, shade and against different planting. For severe storms or long periods when the stakes are not displayed, clean, dry and store them in a protected place.

Cleaning

Wipe the teak and glass with a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry with a clean cloth. Avoid abrasive pads, strong solvents and pressure washing. Clean the metal stem gently and dry it before storage. Do not soak the decorative top or leave it standing in water.

Handling and safety

These are decorative outdoor objects, not toys. Handle the glass and pointed metal stems carefully and keep them away from children and pets during installation and storage.
